I installed this drive on a pre uni-body Macbook Pro. Can you say fast? I was replacing a 5400 rpm HD. Here are the time comparisons: (a) boot up to login screen on the original HD: 0:55--on this SSD: 0:34. And here's the kicker! It really goes fast once the OS is loaded. Check these times: (b) boot up to Safari being loaded on the HD: 2:38--on this SSD: 0:46! (c) NeoOffice (office suite): HD: 0:18--on this SSD: 0:07.

I anxiously awaited this product's arrival. I unboxed it, plugged it in, and it only showed 29.8gb (of 120gb that it should have shown). I called OCZ and they said "That is a bad controller. Just return it to the retailer". HORRIBLE SERVICE! A reputable company would have sent me a replacement using an advance RMA. But now I have to waste 2-3 weeks returning the item, waiting for a refund, then buying another one and waiting again.
Except that I won't do that... I'm NEVER buying another OCZ ssd. Pick a company that actually cares about its customers- these things are commodities. Just pick any company that makes an indilinx based drive but doesn't despise customers.
Mind-bending performance. June 30, 2010
SSDs are simply the fastest ways to store things on your computer. I went from a WD500Gb Green to this as my boot drive and power on to desktop times dropped from 72 seconds to 21. There is simply no way to go faster.
This price is a bit of a pain, but if you want the best, you're going to have to pay for it.

I had a 60GB OCZ Vertex, and ran out of space, so I went to the 120GB Vertex because reviews didn't seem to show much difference between the Intel and OCZ. I installed it no problem and expected nothing more. But this thing is even faster then the old 60GB Vertex! I had a rank of 5.9 on the 60GB, and now I get a 7.4 on this 120GB. Booting is noticeably faster as well.
All I did was clone the old drive, so everything was otherwise identical. While it was 3/4 the price of the Intel, it is very good. My 60GB is almost a year old now and works fine still. I am planning on putting it in another computer.

Comes with 1.5 Firmware. Ready to use. Incredible performance improvement on Lenovo w500! Works great with WS2008 R2 and Windows 7. It's a must have! Price is still high but is the best performance improvement I have seen in many years..
