Smart Design with Wired and Wireless Connections
The Wireless G Router has a striking, vertical enclosure that is both handsome and space efficient. By standing vertically, the router takes up less desk space, giving you more room to work. The built-in external antenna provides the range necessary to easily cover an apartment or small office. Six LEDs for Power, Wired, Wireless, Modem, Security, and Internet let you know the status of your network at a glance, making it easy to troubleshoot any problems.

G Wireless relies on 802.11g technology and provides a wireless speed of up to 54Mbps. This means that you can surf the Internet, check emails, and chat with friends from the comfort of your kitchen table or couch.

You can also share networked peripherals such as a Wi-Fi printer, hard drives, and DVDs. The router is compatible with any 802.11g wireless products and is backwards compatible with 802.11b networks. But for maximum speed and range, the use of Belkin's G Wireless USB Adapter, Notebook Card, and Desktop Card are recommended.

In addition to G Wireless, the router also has four 10/100 Ethernet ports at the back, giving you the option to plug in for a steady and secure, fast connection running at up to 100Mbps.

Thanks to the strong built-in security, including support for WPA, WPA2, Wi-Fi Protected Setup, and 64-and 128-bit WEP encryption, you will be protected from hackers and intruders trying to gain access to your sensitive files. The router also supports VPN for making secure connections between home and office.

1 out of 5 stars Cheat !!! not as visible in the image   September 8, 2010

4 out of 5 stars Works...but no antenna   September 8, 2010
I bought this because I needed a basic, but above all, cheap router. I needed it to have encryption ability and just work. So far so good. It has cut out a few times but that might be the cable modem, nothing a simple 5 second restart of both router and modem won't fix. I was surprised at some of its features, as it is advertised as a basic modem. But it will have 99.999% of things all basic home users need. I would recommend buying it, I got it for $20 and it was a great buy so far. Only thing that disappointed me: mine didn't come with the antenna as is advertised in the picture :(

2 out of 5 stars don't work   September 7, 2010
it didn't work with my modem.
finally i have to return it.
it seems like too old model for nowadays.

2 out of 5 stars Item isn't as pictured   September 5, 2010
I was very disappointed when I received this item. It did not have the antenna as pictured and it's a different hub as pictured. The whole purpose for buying this hub was to get the one as indicated. So, if you need a hub that will give you a little more coverage; don't get this one.

2 out of 5 stars OK for simple use. Bad for anything more   September 2, 2010
I purchased this router to replace the D-Link that I was using before it died. Not knowing much about router hardware, I figured that this one would just work as my previous Linksys and D-Link routers before it.

This nice little router will do the trick for anyone wanting wireless capability for simple use in a small area. What is simple use? I consider simple use to be browsing the web and checking email while only 1-2 computers are in use at the same time. I consider a bedroom or home office to be a small area. Once outside those areas, performance will degrade dramatically.

I am not a simple user. I use a wireless router for my PC, HTPC, Notebook, PSP and Android. I've noticed that it takes a while for wireless connections to be established when they in fact, happen. They sometimes fail that and I'll have to manually restart the process. I've noticed that this router's hardware simply cannot deal with too many connections such as when using torrents. Things come to a crawl when sufficient torrent activity is occuring. I can barely get to a website when that happens. Pages often cannot be displayed.

After much research, I've determined that this router SUCKS for power users due to it's pitiful amount of system ram and slow processor. For my purposes, I have given this router a rating of two because although it works, it performs badly when maximum internet activity is occurring. I have just purchased something much more powerful to compensate: A 64mb Buffalo Nfinity router. I can't wait to get and flash it :)

In conclusion, this router will work just fine and will be a super bargain for a casual user in a small area but don't expect it to do anything more. It simply will not.
