Plug-and-Play Setup Gets You Going Fast
A PC Magazine Editor's Choice, the Powerline AV is a snap to set up. Just plug one XAV101 adapter into an available electrical socket near your router, and connect your router to it. Then plug the
second XAV101 adapter into any electrical socket that's located near the device you want to network. When you connect your device into the XAV101, it will be connected to your network.

It's as simple as that. There's no software to install, no passwords to remember, and no configuration whatsoever. And you can easily create more network connections throughout your home by simply installing additional adapters.

If you wish to make more network connections, you just have to purchase and connect additional NETGEAR XAV101 Powerline AV Ethernet Adapters.

Fast Network Connection for Media Streaming
The Powerline AV supports the Homeplug AV protocol and delivers up to 200 Mbps network speed, fast enough for high-quality HD video streaming, music streaming, gaming, and VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) telephone calls. The Powerline AV Ethernet adapter is perfect for devices such as TiVo, Slingbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, networked televisions, and more.

Push-Button Security for Extra Safety
Unlike wireless connections, a Powerline network connection is secure. The XAV101 supports 128-bit AES encryption. Setting up a secure connection with the Powerline is as simple as pushing a button. And for the ultimate in convenience, the Powerline also features three different colored LEDs that give information on Power, Network Status, and Ethernet connections.

Each adapter measures 2.83 x 3.86 x 1.57 inches (WxHxD) and is backed by a one-year warranty.

What's in the Box
Two Powerline AV Ethernet Adapters, 5-foot Ethernet cable, installation guide, setup CD, warranty card, support and information card.

4 out of 5 stars Works great but a bit pricey   September 2, 2010
These powerline ethernet adapters work great - I just plugged them in and they worked! The only issue I have is that they are a bit pricey for only 2 adapters...

4 out of 5 stars If you don't need to stream HD-Video, they work great!   August 30, 2010
I have four of these units connecting a two computers and a media player to my router, NAS and the internet. They have been working fine for over two years. The speeds are not up to streaming HD quality video, but they support DVD video & internet communication just fine. My units are on separate circuits and, in one case, connected through a sub-panel - the house is 30 years old and the wiring is dodgy at best. When installed on the same circuit, HD video streaming is possible. I highly recommend these units.

5 out of 5 stars Real easy   August 23, 2010
They said it would be plug and play but I was doubtful. Sure enough I plugged one end into my router and the other adapter into my PC and had instant internet access. I'm very pleased with this product.

5 out of 5 stars Easy and It Works well   August 22, 2010
So quick and easy. I have a Netgear Wireless 300 modem router in my basement which would work with my built-in wireless features of my laptops. To get my desktop to connect, I first installed a linksys USB-wireless adapter in it but this would disconnect whenever someone turned on the microwave, or I got an incoming phone call. I next installed a linksys network expander halfway between my desktop and the modem router but never got this to work (it was a compatibility thing between the linksys expander and the netgear router I think; never mix manufacturers even if they say compatible). When I returned the expander, the tech at Best Buy pointed out the netgear powerline adapter kit which I bought thinking at least I wouldn't have to worry about compatibility. Long story short, it was so easy I was amazed. I now get faster speeds on my desktop (compared with the usb-wireless adapter) and no connection problems. This is such a simple way to hook up multiple computers/applicances in a home without having to fuss with usb-wireless adapters nevermind having to go through the tremendous fuss of running cable. What a great solution.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, high transfer speeds and reliable   August 16, 2010
Overall the Power Line Ethernet Technologies is an excellent option for folks who want high speed connectivity for media centers, streaming videos. Specifically in those cases where a Wireless N wifi connection is just not enough. In my case I have my routers and cable modem connections in the Garage, with this product I was able to have excellent speeds in my living room. I use this to connect my media center and am able to view HD quality video streams.

The product was very easy to install. It works just as advertised. I did not have the need to use the encryption option though.
