Product Description
The Western Digital Scorpio Blue 320 GB Mobile Hard Drive offers high-performance, low power consumption, and cool operation, making it perfect for notebooks and other portable devices. Pick the drive that suits your needs with the confidence in knowing that all WD Scorpio Blue drives are built to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Features:
Massive capacity - Whether they are in an external drive or a notebook computer, 320 GB WD Scorpio Blue 2.5-inch drives offer the most available capacity for space-hungry operating systems like Windows Vista™, plus plenty of room left over for photos, music, and video.
Quiet - In a notebook drive, silence is golden. WD’s exclusive WhisperDrive combines state-of-the-art seeking algorithms to yield one of the quietest 2.5-inch hard drives on the market. These algorithms also optimize the way a drive seeks for data, which significantly improves power consumption. So now silence (and longer battery life) is golden.
Reliable and Rugged - WD's ShockGuard technology protects the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks. WD's SecurePark parks the recording heads off the disk surface during spin up, spin down and when the drive is off. This ensures the recording head never touches the disk surface resulting in improved long term reliability due to less head wear, and improved non-operational shock tolerance.
Fast and Efficient - With 5400 RPM spin speed and 12 ms access time and up to 3 Gb/s SATA interface speed, even the most demanding customer will appreciate the performance achieved by WD Scorpio Blue drives.
Tested for Compatibility - We perform tests on hundreds of systems and a multitude of platforms in our FIT Lab and Mobile Compatibility Lab to give our custom

So far so good. Fast shipping. September 7, 2010 Item arrived a week after being ordered, way before the quoted delivery date, even before the quoted shipping date.
Great price. Drive is fast and easy to install. So far no problems.
Good Value in a High Capacity 2.5" Notebook Computer Hard Drive September 6, 2010 My 3 1/2-year-old Dell notebook computer was running out of space on the 120GB Toshiba hard drive that came installed on it. There were fewer than 5GB remaining. After contacting Dell's technical support team to determine if my computer's BIOS would recognize the capacity of a larger drive, I learned that 500GB was the largest that my notebook computer would accommodate. That narrowed down my choices considerably. Amazon's price for this WD drive was the best I could find. Most of the reviews for this drive were positive, both on Amazon and on other Websites, so I ordered one along with an external USB SATA hard-drive enclosure.
When this WD drive arrived, I mounted it in the enclosure, plugged it into a USB port on my notebook commputer and used Acronis True Image Home to clone the data from my existing hard drive to my new drive. Once the cloning job was complete, I removed the old hard drive from my notebook computer and replaced it with this new one. I was delighted that my computer instantly recognized the new drive and booted normally. There were three differences that I immediately noticed:
1. Instead of less than 5GB of free hard-drive space, I now have more than 344GB of free space. 2. My computer now opens and saves files noticably faster. 3. Projected battery life has been extended about 15 minutes from 4:30 to 4:45.
In summary, for a much smaller investment than replacing my notebook computer, I was able to considerably extend its useful life and improve its performance too. After mounting my old Toshiba 120GB hard drive in my external USB enclosure and formatting it, I now have a handy backup drive as well. My new Western Digital 500GB 2.5" hard drive has not only met but exceeded my expectations both with its performance and its price.
Keeps Breaking September 5, 2010 I bought this hard drive to upgrade my ps3 and had nothing but trouble. The first one didn't work at all. I tried to power up my ps3 with it inside, and my ps3 kept freezing. So I sent it back and received a replacement rather quickly. The second one worked for a while, in fact two days longer then the return policy so I was out of luck. It was so frustrating, I lost my money and game saves because this bloody thing kept dying. Save yourselves some pain and money and find another hard drive.
